How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide AI-powered analysis of your thoughts and memos
- Transcribe voice recordings to text using third-party services
- Provide customer support when requested
Data Storage
Local Storage: Journal entries and conversation history are stored locally on your device using the app's local data store.
AI Analysis: When you request an AI insight, the relevant entry content and context are sent to https://api.getclio.app/analyze for processing.
Voice Transcription: When you request transcription, the audio is sent for processing by a third-party AI transcription service.
Accounts: Basic journaling does not require an account. Subscription purchases are handled by Apple.
Third-Party Services
Clio relies on service providers for:
- AI processing: Generating a response when you request an insight
- Voice transcription: Converting audio you submit into text
- Apple: Processing App Store downloads and subscription purchases
Providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. Do not submit passwords, access tokens, or third-party confidential information.
Data Security
We use safeguards appropriate to the service, including:
- Encrypted communication between the app and our servers
- Local app storage for journal entries and conversation history
- Sending relevant content only when you request analysis or transcription
